Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh or El Gouna: where should you buy?

The Red Sea market is not one market. Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh and El Gouna serve different budgets, lifestyles and rental strategies.

There is no single best location. Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh and El Gouna attract different buyers, and that difference is exactly what matters.

Hurghada is practical, lively and often more accessible in price. Sahl Hasheesh feels calmer and more resort-oriented, with higher expectations for facilities and service charges.

El Gouna is almost its own market, with stronger branding, organized infrastructure and higher prices.

The right location is the one that fits your budget, daily life and future use.

In Hurghada itself, the advantage is everyday practicality. Shops, services, restaurants, taxis and local life are close, and entry prices can be more accessible. This can be ideal for buyers who want flexibility, personal use and a broad tenant base.

Sahl Hasheesh is usually more resort-driven. Buyers often choose it for beach feeling, quieter surroundings, promenades, managed compounds and a more premium holiday atmosphere. The trade-off can be higher service charges and fewer daily-life options directly around the property.

El Gouna offers the strongest brand and a controlled environment, but that control also affects everyday use. Access rules, higher prices and distance from central Hurghada should be considered before buying there, especially for rentals or frequent guests.

The right decision is therefore not “which place is famous?” but “which place supports your exact plan?” A retirement home, holiday apartment, rental investment and family base can lead to four different answers.
